Salepur: The forest department finally succeeded in tranquilising a mad monkey after relentless efforts of 10 days. The incident happened in Salepur block.
The mad monkey had terrorised the residents of Balisamala, Haripur, Purana village under Ramakrushnapur Gram Panchayat of Salepur block. Over 10 people were injured by the biting of the monkey from these villages.
The villagers sighed a relief after the monkey was caught by the foresters. The villagers informed the officials about the terror of the monkey. After that the officials consisting of 5-member team of Cuttack forest department and Nandankanan team tried to catch the monkey.
After 10 days of tiring efforts the 5- member team successfully caught the monkey by tranquilising it. As per reports, it will be taken to Nandankanan.
