Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly has been adjourned till 11:30 am due to a huge ruckus created in the house by the opposition on Friday.
The BJD and Congress leaders went into the well of the House and created a ruckus over the liquor tragedy in Ganjam district during the second phase of the Budget session of the Odisha Assembly.
The opposition is also demanded the resignation of the State Excise Minister in relation to the deaths in the liquor tragedy.
The Congress on August 21 had raised the issue of the cancellation of the student elections this year, following which a huge ruckus was seen in the house and the speaker was forced to adjourn it.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) raised the issue of the ASO being beaten up and the issue of the liquor tragedy in Ganjam.
The first phase of Odisha budget session ended on July 31 and shall resume again on August 20, said reports on Tuesday. There shall be a total of 27 working days in the Odisha Assembly session.
