Bhubaneswar: Ever since the unfortunate death of a Nepali student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University on February 16, several individuals and organizations including some media houses have been cornering the university by spreading false and fake news. Recently, they had made some reports of false information on how the KIIT University waylays the entry and exit of the students and staff of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), in Bhubaneswar. However, Kalinga TV, in its ground report, found out the reality. Read on to know the truth.

Students, staff and visitors of NIFT enter and exit through the gate No 6 of the KIIT Campus as the fashion institute is situated on the campus of the KIIT University. Even the Students, staff and visitors of KIIT also enter and exit through the same gate. The security guards of both the institutions are always present at the gate. However, some media organizations have purposefully spread false news saying that the students and staff of NIFT are harassed in the gate by KIIT security guards.

After capturing in camera the movements of the people through the gate, we asked a security guard about the allegation and he said, “We don’t stop anyone here. Everyone enters and exists as per their need. They go to attend classes as per their schedule and move as per their requirement.”

We also asked one of the students of NIFT about the allegation being leveled by the media houses. However, she clarified saying, “We do not face any problem at the gate while entering or existing from our college. Sometime, whenever needed we are just asked to show our identity cards.”
