Visitors troubled due to severe waterlogging in Konark temple of Odisha

Konark: The tourists have been troubled due to severe waterlogging in Konark temple of Odisha, said reports on Tuesday. Incessant rains in Puri has raised concerns in this matter and the tourists to this world famous site are dissatisfied.

The visitors were seen wading through knee deep water in the sun temple premises. Due to low pressure rains, life has been disrupted in Konark and its surrounding areas. Tourists are deprived of seeing the exquisite work due to rain water in the south and north corners of Sun Temple. Due to this, tourists and local people are dissatisfied.

There are six diesel powered water pumps while two electricity driven water motors are installed to prevent the rain water waterlogging in Konark. Two electricity dependant pumps are running while other pumps are inoperative. It has been alleged that there is always water in the temple premises. There is a general demand to solve the problem at the earliest.
