Union Health Minister JP Nadda to launch Ayushman Bharat Scheme from Bali Jatra ground on April 11
Ayushman Bharat Yojana is aimed to benefit people in over 29,000 empanelled government and private hospitals across the country
Cuttack: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda will launch the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in Odisha on April 11 from the lower Bali Jatra ground in Cuttack.
The health scheme will be launched on April 11. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also likely to attend the event. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling is has attended a preparatory meeting for the programme.
Cuttack Collector Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shide, Cuttack Municipal Commissioner, DSP and others are overlooking the preparations of the programme.
While speaking to the media persons, state BJP President Manmohan Samal said that the Union Health Minister will reach Bhubaneswar on April 10 and launch the Ayushman Bharat Yojana on the following day.
It is to be noted here that the State Government has already approved for the simultaneous implementation of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) in the state.
If the AB PMJAY, GJAY and Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojana implemented together in the state then many beneficiaries will be benefitted. The beneficiaries of these schemes will get free treatment at over 29,000 empanelled government and private hospitals across the country. Earlier, the service was available only in 900 hospitals.
Besides, the Odisha government will get financial support from the central government for implementing AB PMJAY.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Health Authority (NHA) for the implementation of the national health scheme also has been already signed, the CM said adding that as many as 3.46 crore members of over 1.3 Crore families of the state will get the health cards for Cashless Treatment upto Rs 5 lakh per family per annum, with additional Rs 5 lakh for women members.
