Undertrial prisoner found hanging in washroom of Sambalpur jail
Dharanidhar was arrested in a family dispute case and later spotted hanging with a towel in the washroom of the jail
Sambalpur: An undertrial prisoner was found hanging in washroom of Sambalpur circle jail today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Dharanidhar Mahananda, a resident of Sindurpankh area of Sambalpur.
Report says, Dharanidhar was arrested in a family dispute case and lodged in the jail, yesterday. Some other prisoners spotted him hanging with a towel in the washroom of the jail and informed the authorities of the prison.
He was immediately rescued and admitted to Burla medical, but the doctors declared him dead.
Later, the Sambalpur police started an investigation into the incident.
