Two Odisha cops suspended over ‘custodial torture’ of youth

Jagatsinghpur: Proving ‘third degree’ use on a youth to be dear, Jagatsinghpur Police SP Prakash R. on Tuesday suspended at least two cops, including an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and a constable.

The suspended cops have been identified as Jagatsinghpur Police Station ASI Rabindra Senapati and Constable Siba Jani.

As per the allegations against the suspended cop duo, they picked up one Lingaraj Das of Odisso village from his house on charges of misbehaving with the woman sarpanch of his village on September 14 and took to the police station.
