Twin city Police begins night patrolling to curb anti-social elements in Odisha

Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: To prevent the crimes  in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack , police patrolling and enforcement against anti- social elements has been started on Wednesday night at 10 and 19 locations respectively under the direction and leadership of Commissioner of Police Dr S. Dev Datta Singh, IPS.

To make this convoy patrolling more effective Addl. CP Dr Umasankar Dash, IPS, and DCP Bhubaneswar UPD Sri Pinak Mishra, IPS, actively participated in the enforcement drive to enhance public safety and to create a fear psychosis in the minds of antisocial in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack last night and focused on preventing crime and creating a secure environment for all citizens.

For ensuring effective enforcement, police have set up checkpoints at 10 different locations in Bhubaneswar and 19 in Cuttack. All officers will conduct vehicle inspections, convoy patrolling, Naka, and cordon-and-search operations to deter crime and check individuals to prevent crime. This drive is against anti-social activities, such as hooliganism, drug peddling & habitual offenders. The enforcement also focuses on arresting individuals who have pending NBWs and inspecting vehicles to detect stolen property.

All officers are equipped with body cameras, and man-pack handsets to record their actions to enhance transparency. A total of nine platoons in Bhubaneswar and 19 sections of force in Cuttack, including all six Additional DCP, 10 ACP and 22 IICs, including 40 SIs and 58 ASI  BBSR UPd and From Cuttack,  DCP Cuttack Sri Jagmohan Meena IPS, one Additional DCP, 6 ACP, 23 IIC, 30 SI and 46 ASI are involved in this massive enforcement.

“This patrolling and enforcement activity will continue in the coming days to strengthen public safety, ensuring a secure environment and instilling confidence among citizens of both cities,” informed Sarat Kumar Sahu, ACP.
