Three tiger skins seized in Odisha’s Rayagada; 11 arrested

Rayagada: The Forest Department has seized three tiger skins and arrested 11 people while conducting a raid to crack down wild life smuggling racket in Ribalakana village in Kalyansinghpur forest division in Odisha’s Rayagada district.

The arrested individuals include four people from Kalahandi and 5 people from Rayagada district. Apart from the tiger skin, the Forest Department personnel also recovered three bikes and mobile phones from them.

The shocking thing is that among those arrested accused is a primary school teacher. According to primary investigation reports, they had hunted a tiger and sold its bones and nails in November last year.

Now the Forest Department nabbed those accused and seized the tiger skins while they were trying sell them to interstate wildlife smugglers. The Forest Department will produce the arrested accused in court tomorrow after further interrogation.
