Three hardcore Maoists arrested in anti-naxalite operations

Malkangiri: In another big achievement for the anti-Moaist operations, as many as three hardcore Maoists have been arrested. The exchange of fire that led to the arrest happened in the Chintagupha jungle in Malkangiri bordering Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.

According to information, the security personnel had skillfully installed Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) in the Chintagupha jungles.

Acting on a tip off, the security personnel targeted the jungles as being a potential of the red rebels and then fitted the explosives there.

The Sukma district police, Central Reserved Police Force’s (CRPF) specialized unit- CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) carried out the operations to nab the Maoists.

The security personnel said that there are more Maoists hiding in the jungles who will be also either eliminated or arrested.

Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday outlined the steps taken by the central government to strengthen internal security and said Naxalism will be eliminated from the country by March 21, 2026.

“I say it in this House with responsibility that Naxalism in this country will be eliminated by March 21, 2026,” he said.
