Sword attack in Bhubaneswar: Miscreants attack shopkeeper in Palasuni, watch

Bhubaneswar: Throwing open challenge to Police, miscreants have once again attacked a person with sword in the capital city of Odisha on Wednesday night. The CCTV footage of the sword attack has surfaced. The incident took place in the Prachi Vihar area of Palasuni under Mancheswar Police Station limits.

The accused miscreants who attacked the shopkeeper have been identified as Pintu Nayak and his aide.

The victim shopkeeper has been identified as Prashanta Das. He runs a grocery shop in Prachi Vihar.

As per reports, the accused person (Pintu) had taken goods from the grocery shop of Prashanta in credit. He was supposed to pay the bill later. However, as for many days he did not pay the money, yesterday night the shopkeeper asked Pintu to pay the credit arrear money.

Being aggrieved by this Pintu took out a sword and attacked the shopkeeper with it. As he attacked with sword, the shopkeeper sustained critical injury but managed to save himself by running away from the scene. Pintu’s aide was also there during the incident.

The victim shopkeeper has been admitted to hospital for treatment. After getting information Mancheswar Police rushed to the spot and initiated investigation. A case has been lodged in this regard and further probe of the matter is underway. By the time this report was written, no arrest had been made in this matter.
