Suspicious death of youth in Berhampur, friend under scanner
Friend turns foe in Odisha's Ganjam district, beats up youth critically injures him and leaves him to die in a closed house
Berhampur: In a shocking incident, a youth was found dead in Berhampur of Ganjam district in Odisha. The youth was found inside a closed room, reports further added.
According to reports, the youth was reportedly killed by his friend for money. The body of the youth was recovered under suspicious condition from inside a closed house.
The incident took place at a rented house in Haridakhand area under Badabazar of Berhampur. The youth was declared dead upon being admitted to MKCG. The deceased has been identified as Shankar Majhi of Sriram Nagar area of Berhampur.
It is reported that after severely beating up the youth, his friend reportedly locked him up and fled. It is reported that the murder was due to a house rent dispute between the two.
The police have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter. This is a developing story, detailed reports are awaited in this matter.
In a similar incident last year, a youth was allegedly killed by his friend after being invited to his house in Cuttack district of Odisha. The youth has been accused of murder in Brahmania village of Dampada Panchayat under Banki police station limits in Cuttack district, said reliable reports on Wednesday.
It is worth mentioning that, on the night of September 11, Ashok alias Munna, came to Kabu Bhoi’s house and asked him to go to Dampada for drinking. After drinking alcohol, there was an argument between two people.
Kabu’s face and head was badly injured in the attack, said reports. The accused attacked the victim and escaped leaving the victim behind in a pool of blood, said sources.
The villagers and locals reported about this shocking incident to the Banki police station and Kabu was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment but later, there the doctor declared him dead.
On the complaint of Kabu’s father, the police reached the spot and arrested the alleged accused Munna. A detailed police probe is underway in this matter. Complete reports awaited.
