Supreme Court dismisses anticipatory bail plea of Odisha MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, watch

Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court of India on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Odisha BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra. The bail plea was in the matter of slapping a woman officer during a protest in Sambalpur of Odisha.

As per reports, on last February 15 the incident had taken place in which argument took place between MLA Mishra and a woman police officer during a protest in Sambalpur. The argument escalated and later the incident allegedly took place.

It is to be noted that earlier the anticipatory bail plea had been rejected by Orissa High Court after which MLA Mishra had moved to the Apex Court for the anticipatory bail.

In this matter Supreme Court said, “People in leadership position must set an example for public behavior.”

In the Apex Court, the matter was in the Bench of of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and SVN Bhatti.
