Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Sishu Mahotsav 2024- ‘Suravi,’ organized by the Department of School and Mass Education, has been inaugurated on the premises of the Capital High School. Nityananda Gond, Minister, S&ME participated as chief guest in the opening ceremony and wished the success of the Suravi program by encouraging the students.
Sulochana Das, Mayor, Bhubaneswar joined the inaugural event of the three-day festival as the guest of honour while Smt. Shalini Pandit, Commissioner-cum-secretary, Ananya Das, SPD, OSEPA, Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, Director, TE&SCERT were present.
“Every student has some special talent. Let them recognize the talent or potential within themselves. Learn new things, ask questions and always try to embrace innovation,” the Minister said while advising the students to work hard towards fulfilling their dreams.
“Viksit Odisha, Viksit Bharat needs to be improved at the grassroots level. If art survives, the country will survive. The state government has emphasized this made many plans for the preservation and propagation of folk art of Odisha and this festival is an important step in this direction,” he said.
In her address to the children, the Mayor said that a medium is needed to develop the talent of the students and a big medium like ‘Suravi’ will help in developing their talent.
On this occasion, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit said, “Today’s child is the best guide to the future. In this direction, the state government and our department are making great efforts. Survi is a beautiful attempt to reveal the qualities of children.”
