Six more KIIT officials appear before high-level probe committee
As many as six more officials of the KIIT University in Bhubaneswar today appeared before the high-level committee which has been formed by the Odisha government to probe the death of a Nepali girl student at the university on February 15.

Chief Proctor PK Pattnaik, Senior Hostel Superintendent Sanhita Mishra, Assistant Director Smarika Pati, Internal Committee head Ipsita Satapathy, Sidharth Ray from the administrative office and one other person presented themselves before the committee at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier, KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta had appeared before the three-member committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu.
Apart from Samanta, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh were among eight senior officials of the University who had appeared before the committee as per its summon and kept their sides.
According to sources, the high-level fact finding committee is probing the incident in three different angels. All the eight officials along with the founder of the KIIT University shared the information with the committee as they were asked.
It is to be noted here that the State government’s committee is comprised of the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Home and Commissioner-Cum-Secretary, and Women and Child Welfare Department.
