Singhadwara Police lodges FIR against seven servitors for carrying mobile phones on chariots

Police lodged the FIR after the OSD (Security) of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri urged the Inspector-in-Charge of the Singhadwar Police Station to take legal action against Sevaks taking/using Mobile Phone on the chariots during Ratha Jatra-2025.

Puri: The Singhadwara Police in Puri has reportedly lodges an FIR against a total of seven servitors for carrying mobile phones on chariots during the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings despite ban.

Police lodged the FIR after the OSD (Security) of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri urged the Inspector-in-Charge of the Singhadwar Police Station to take legal action against Sevaks taking/using Mobile Phone on the chariots during Ratha Jatra-2025.

“With due respect, I bring to your attention that, despite ban on taking/use of Mobile Phones on/inside the chariots during this year Ratha Jatra in Puri, but it has been observed from some Social Media and other media platforms that, some servitors have been using their Mobile Phones on the Chariots. Use of Mobile Phones in the Chariots not only disrupts the sanctity of the Rituals but also possesses risk and threats on the safety of life and property,” the OSD said adding that hence, treat this as FIR and take legal action against the persons violating the norms in maintaining the sanctity and safety of this sacred events.

Based on this the Singhadwara Police Station lodged FIR against seven sevayats.
