A high drama unfolded at Gopalpur Police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday evening after a minor girl consumed some chemical after fighting with her family members.
Gopalpur: A high drama unfolded at Gopalpur Police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday evening after a minor girl consumed some chemical after fighting with her family members.
Sources said that the concerned girl along with her boyfriend visited a lodge in Gopalpur town and wanted to avail a room to stay with him. However, owner of the lodge denied entry to the lovebirds as the girl was a minor and had not attained 18 years of age.
Later, the girl and her boyfriend, whose identity was not known immediately, went to the Gopalpur Police station to lodge a complaint against lodge owner. However, their decision to complain against the owner of the lodge backfired them as police called the girl’s family members after learning that she was a minor, and informed them everything in detail.
After her family member reached the police station, the minor girl had a heated argument with them in the presence of the cops and angry over the exchange of words she consumed some chemical before anyone could snatch it from her.
As her condition deteriorated after consuming the poisonous substance, the girl was immediately rushed to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur in an ambulance for treatment.
A team of doctors attended the girl and provided her treatment. Currently, her condition is stated to be stable.
On the other hand, police have started an investigation into the matter by detaining her boyfriend for interrogation. Cops are also trying to find out under what circumstance she availed the chemical. They also questioned the family members to get some lead in the shocking incident.
Meanwhile, the incident has shocked and surprised everyone in the locality of Gopalpur city.
