Schools and angawadi centres to remain closed in these districts
All schools and angawadi centres in three districts of Odisha namely Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Bhadrak will remain closed in view of the heavy rainfall warning issued by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Bhubaneswar: All schools and angawadi centres in three districts of Odisha namely Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Bhadrak will remain closed in view of the heavy rainfall warning issued by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As informed by the district collectors of Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur, all types of government, government-aided, privately managed schools, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAVs)/Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) along with Anganwadi Centres coming under their respective jurisdiction will remain closed for next two days i.e tomorrow (Friday) and day after tomorrow (Saturday) due to heavy rain alert.
Likewise, following the rain alert and flood situation in different parts of the district, the collector of Bhadhak too declared closure of all the educational institutions tomorrow.
The decisions to suspend classes of the students were taken as a precautionary measure for the safety of students and staff.
Earlier in the day, the district collector of Khordha also announced holiday for the schools and anganwardi centres across the district after the weather department forecasted heavy rainfall in the district.
