Bhubaneswar: A comment by BJP’s Puri MP candidate Sambit Patra on Lord Jagannath has been highly condemned across various political parties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a road show in Puri on Monday. Meanwhile, a video of Sambit is going viral on social media. He said, lakhs of people have gathered to see Modi and Lord Jagannath is a devotee of Modi.
There has been a strong response to Sambit’s comments. Not just in the state but Sambit Patra’s comments have been condemned across the country. AAP Leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the statement. Such comments by BJP leaders are reprehensible. They have now started to think themselves above God.
Kejriwal has further responded on social media saying that the arrogance of BJP leaders has reached its peak. He said that it is an insult to call God to be Modi’s devotee and criticized Sambit Patra statement on Lord Jagannath.

Similarly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has strongly condemned Sambit Patra’s comments. Rahul has attacked the BJP without taking Sambit’s name. When the Prime Minister thinks of himself as Shehensah and the people of his party think of him as God, it is clear that the fall of sin is assured. Rahul asked who gave the right to hurt the trust of crores of people. “This arrogance will lead to their destruction,” he said.

On the other hand, the Congress strongly condemned Sambit’s comments and demanded his immediate arrest. Congress Election Management Committee Chairman Prasad Harichandan has demanded an immediate apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for such an incident.
Prasad Harichandan said that Sambit’s statement has shocked us. Such comments prove the arrogance and pride of BJP leaders. The Congress party has also said that it will file a written complaint with the police against Sambit Patra statement on Lord Jagannath.
