A rare giant mushroom was found in Khaliamunda village under the Kuchinda block of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

Sambalpur: A rare giant mushroom was found in Khaliamunda village under the Kuchinda block of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

According to the sources, a man identified as Luri Kishan of Khaliamunda village went to the backyard of his garden. He there found the large mushroom under a dates tree. The mushroom is said to be weighing around 8 to 10 kilograms.

Reportedly, such a big mushroom was never seen in the area before. While the name of the mushroom’s species is yet to be ascertained, it is said to be a rare species.

Earlier, a similar kind of giant mushroom was found in Odisha’s Ganjam district. It was witnessed in the Ratnapur village under the Surada Block of the district. A villager first found the giant mushroom sprouting at a pile of straw near his farmland. He plucked the mushroom. After weighing, the mushroom weighed around 10 kg. The width of the mushroom was 2 feet and it was white in color.
