Jaleswar: In a tragic incident on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, two minor sisters have drowned while they had gone to fetch water from the river in Balasore district of Odisha.
According to reports, the two sisters drowned while fetching water from the river. They were fetching water from the Shikharpur ghat of the Subarnarekha river in Jaleswar block of Balasore district in Odisha.
Reports further said that, they were drawing water for Lord Shiva for Shravan. The body of the girls however is yet to be found. The fire department has launched a search operation in the area. Further detailed reports awaited.
In a tragic incident at the beginning of the year, two minors drowned in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. According to reports, the two minors girls aged 13 years and 17 years have drowned and died, they were cousins.

It is further worth mentioning that on March 5, two minors drowned in a pond in Bhadrak district of Odisha. The incident took place in Nauri Gadiya village in Kurigaon panchayat under Dhamnagar police station limits of Bhadrak district in Odisha. The deaceased were students of Standard 5.
It is worth mentioning that, the minor boys were bathing in the pond of the Mutt when they slipped into deep waters, drowned and died on the spot.
