Rain in Odisha around October 4 informs IMD, low pressure over BoB

Bhubaneswar: Rain in Odisha is expected around October 4 informed the IMD, low pressure over Bay of Bengal is likely. Light to moderate rain and thunder shower with lightening likely to affect some parts of district of seven district in Odisha.

The districts are Koraput, Rayagada, Jajpur, Khorda, Gajapati, Kalahandi and Deogarh within next three hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.

Today the DGM, IMD, Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra told ANI, “Climate change is an ongoing process. But, in recent decades the temperature of the surface air is rising rapidly…”

Mohapatra further added, “Due to this variation and global warming, there has been a rise in the frequency, duration and intensity of various extreme weather situations…”

“Due to the temperature rise, there is an ice-melting process in polar regions which causes sea-level rise and coastal areas are facing problems, especially during cyclones…”Mrutyunjay Mohapatra further added.
