Puri: 24 Anti-Sabotage Checking teams and 16 Bomb Squads deployed for security during Rath Yatra 2026
Puri Police has made security arrangements giving top priority to the safety of lakhs of devotees, tourists and guests visiting Puri on the occasion of Rath Yatra 2026.
Puri: Puri Police has made security arrangements giving top priority to the safety of lakhs of devotees, tourists and guests visiting Puri on the occasion of Rath Yatra 2026. As part of this arrangement, 24 Anti-Sabotage Checking (AS) teams and 16 Bomb Squads have been deployed in the entire city of Puri and are working vigilantly day and night.
These 24 Anti-Sabotage Checking teams are regularly checking Rathmarg, Badadand, Srigundicha Temple, Sri Jagannath Temple, Gundicha Temple Complex, bus stand, railway station, parking lot, passenger rest area, VIP route and other sensitive places.
According to reports, modern equipments are used to sanitize every place and check in advance for the possibility of suspicious objects or dangerous materials.
Similarly, a total of 16 bomb squads are deployed at various important and crowded places across the city and are always ready to deal with any security threat. They are trained to inspect suspicious objects, identify explosives and immediately defuse them if necessary.
In addition, a strong security net has been created for Rath Yatra 2026 by maintaining CCTV surveillance, drone monitoring, control room, quick response team, traffic management and coordination with various security agencies.
Meanwhile, Puri Police requests all devotees to immediately inform the nearest police personnel or control room if they find any suspicious objects or persons and cooperate with the police during the security check.
