President’s Gallantry Award to be given to 13 Odisha police officers

Bhubaneswar: In a piece of welcome news, as many as 13 Odisha police officers shall be given President’s Gallantry Award this year.

Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the bravery and service medals to be given on the Independence Day. On the occasion of the Independence Day, 1037 people of the country will be awarded police medals and bravery awards.

The medal will be awarded to the officers and employees of the police department, fire department and Home Guard Department for their dedicated service at work. Thirteen officers of Odisha will get police medals.

They shall receive the President’s Police Medal for meritorious service. Medal shall be given to ADG Suresh Devdutta Singh and DSP Satchidananda Rath. 15 police officers will be awarded meritorious service medals. Bravery medals for police, firefighters, home guards shall be given. In this regard, a notification has been published by the Union Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday.

One out of 1,037 people will be awarded the President’s Medal of Valor. Apart from this, 213 people will be awarded bravery medal, 94 distinguished service medal, 729 meritorious service medal.
