PM-USHA scheme: Rs 670 crore sanctioned to Odisha universities
These Universities in Odisha have been sanctioned Rs 670 crores under Prime Minister Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan.
Bhubaneswar: In a good news ahead of the New Year 2025, four universities in Odisha have been sanctioned Rs 670 crores under PM-USHA Scheme (Prime Minister Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) informed Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Higher Education of Odisha. The Ravenshaw University, Berhampur University, Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University of Mayurbhanj and the Sambalpur University have been allotted the money for the improvement in education and research.
These four universities in Odisha have been sanctioned Rs 400 crore under PM-USHA scheme. The universities present in the Aspirational districts of Odisha viz Vikram Deb Autonomous College (University) of Koraput, Rajendra University of Balangir and the Kalahandi University, Kalahandi have been allotted Rs 20 crore each.
Additionally, the Odisha State Open University of Sambalpur will receive Rs 20 crore under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Education. These universities and the colleges under them have to submit a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the works under the PM-USHA. Smart classrooms, laboratories, computer laboratories, academic buildings, library, e-library will be built as a part of the developmental steps under PM-USHA. Similarly infrastructure and equipment will be provided for the high-quality research works in these universities.
