Balasore: The pillar of an under-construction bridge collapsed in Balasore district of Odisha on Sunday, said reliable reports in this regard. However, it is worth mentioning that, the locals have alleged poor quality of construction.
According to reports, the wall of the under-construction bridge over a canal collapsed. That the under-construction bridge over the Salandi Canal in the Upada block of Balasore district collapsed last night, that is on Saturday. The wall has collapsed near Astia square of the Salandi Canal from Santaragadia through Nilagiri.
Here two cut-off walls for a bridge and four piers were under construction between the canals. The cut-off wall on the western side collapsed late last night. Local residents have alleged that this situation has arisen due to very poor quality of work. They demanded to take strict measures so that such a situation does not happen in the future.
