OUAT hit by ragging allegation, Students lodge complaint

Bhubaneswar: Two first-year students from the Agricultural department of OUAT on Tuesday alleged seniors of ragging them. They have filed an official complaint with Khandagiri Police station.

As per reports, the two first-year students were regularly beaten with iron rods and were made to stand in the scorching heat. They have alleged that this has been happening to them since last six months. The victims also alleged inaction from the college management.

However, after the complaint was filed, OUAT’s Dean K.K. Rout arrived at Khandagiri police station and said that the victims never brought up the matter with college officials. He has stressed that they take ragging as a very serious offence and will investigate the issue in detail and take necessary action.
