OTET Question Leak: BSE to lodge formal complaint to Odisha Police

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will lodge a formal complaint to Odisha Police in connection with Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak incident of January 16, informed BSE president Jahanara Begum today.

The decision came as a response to Crime Branch ADG Santosh Upadhyay’s, who earlier in the day told the Board to lodge a formal complaint if it wants necessary action to get initiated against the accused.

“The BSE had earlier written a letter only to the Crime Branch seeking probe into the question leak incident and arrest of the perpetrators. However, it had not lodged any formal complaint in this context,” Upadhyay had said to media.

Notably, while the first sitting of the most coveted OTET exam was underway at 250 examination centres across the state from 10 am to 12.30 pm on January 16, question papers surfaced on social media. Later, the Board cancelled the second sitting examination which was scheduled to be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm until further notification.
