In 2.5 years dies, Odisha’s first Covid patient dies!

The Covid-19 patient also reportedly had co-morbid conditions (has other ailments). However,  the State Health Department is yet to confirm about his death.

Bhubaneswar: The first Covid-19 patient who tested positive for the deadly virus in Odisha after 2.5 years allegedly died this evening, said sources adding that the patient, an elderly man, was undergoing treatment at his house.

The victim, who had tested positive for Covid-19 recently, also reportedly had several multiple comorbidities, which is expected to have worsened his health condition significantly leading to his death. However, the State Health Department is yet to confirm about his death.

In a related development, the total Covid-19 positive cases in Odisha of this year rose to 7 after two new cases were identified today.

Meanwhile, Odisha Health Secretary Aswathy S has assured the people not to worry as the current variant is a mild one and the situation is under control.
