Odisha Vigilance nabs Odisha Pharmacy Council staffer for taking bribe
Odisha Vigilance today nabbed Biswamohan Pattnaik alias Raja, the Senior Assistant of Odisha Pharmacy Council in Bhubaneswar, along with his associate while taking bribe.

As informed by the Vigilance sleuths, Pattnaik along with his associate Md. Izaz Khan @Prusty (private individual) was nabbed while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 9,000 from an applicant through Khan.
The due were nabbed while taking the bribe to verify documents to facilitate the grant of Pharmacy Registration Certificate. For about a week, the applicant had been requesting accused Sri Pattnaik for taking steps for issue of Pharmacy Registration Certificate. But, Pattnaik demanded bribe Rs 9,000 for doing the needful.
Today, when the applicant approached accused Pattnaik in front of the Odisha Pharmacy Council Office, Bhubaneswar, he repeated his bribe demand and directed him to hand over the bribe money to his associate Prusty. On this, the complainant reported the matter to vigilance authorities.
Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance, today, nabbed both the accused persons namely Pattnaik and Khan while taking bribe Rs 9,000 from the applicant. The entire tainted bribe money Rs 9,000 has been seized from them.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Pattnaik from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 09 dtd. 08.06.2026 u/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused duo Pattnaik and Md.Khan.
