Odisha Vigilance arrests STA Joint Commissioner Pradeep Mohanty in DA case
The Odisha Vigilance arrested the OTES-1 senior Joint Commissioner of State Transport Authority (STA), Cuttack in relation to DA case.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance arrested the OTES-1 senior Joint Commissioner of State Transport Authority (STA), Cuttack in relation to DA case.
During the ongoing house searches further cash of Rs 2 Lakhs and gold of 600 grams were unearthed. The total gold recovered from his possession was 2.1 kilograms and cash unearthed stands at Rs 17.55 lakhs.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case No.2/2025 has been registered against Sri Pradeep Kumar Mohanty.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, OTES-1(SR), Joint Commissioner, State Transport Authority, Cuttack, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 3 multi storeyed buildings, Rs.1 crore paid to purchase one 4-BHK flat at BBSR, 2 benami flats at Puri, 11 plots, one farm house spread over 14 acres, gold 2.1 kg, cash Rs.17.55 lakhs, 4 wheelers (benami) etc, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
Following the house searches on Thursday, the STA Commissioner was arrested. Searches were conducted in these places.
- Triple storeyed residential building with area approx. 2400 Sqft. located at Maitri Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Five storeyed under construction building at Govindaprasad, Khordha.
- Payment approx. Rs.1 Crore paid by Sri Mohanty to the Realtor to purchase one 4-BHK Flat vide No.T-1-9-C in 9 Bolevard apartment at Raghunathpur, Bhubaneswar in name of Sri Mohanty and his spouse.
- One triple storeyed under construction building with area about 7500 Sqft. over plot No.1077/7650, Khata No.521/2802 at Balukhand, Puri (the asset is suspected to be benami which is under verification).
- One building at his native village Tangi, Khordha.
- A farm house spread over with area A 14.78 dcml. at Kusupalla, Nayagarh.
- 11 nos. of high value plots in Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Ranapur, Nayagarh and one big patch of agricultural land with area A 11.08 dcml.

- The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/flat/plots/Farm house are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
- Cash Rs.17.55 Lakhs,
- 3 Gold biscuits (100 gms each) and gold ornaments (total weight approx. 700 gms).
- Three 4 wheelers (Mahindra XUV-700, Maruti Suzuki Brezza & Maruti Suzuki Swift-suspected to be benami and the same are under verification) & 1 two wheeler (Bullet).
- Bank, Postal, Insurance deposits and other investments etc. are being ascertained.
