Dhenkanal: A day before the second phase of the three-tier Panchayat Election, the husband of a Samiti Member candidate of Sankulei gram panchayat has been allegedly kidnapped in Dhenkanal district.
Reportedly, a complaint in this regard was lodged at Sadar Police Station today.
Chinmaya Das, the husband of Samiti Member candidate Bharati Rath, had gone to a nearby village on Wednesday night. However, he did not return home and his phone number was also switched off.
Thereafter, his family members and villagers searched for him and found his scooter lying on the road a few distances away from the village. There were bloodstains on the handle and the footrest of the scooter added sources.
They immediately lodged a complaint with the local police station. The cops have initiated a manhunt to trace Chinmaya’s location.
