Odisha: Now buying and selling apartments will be easy as an obstacle for apartment registration removed
Despite the current act, all the apartments that were completed before February 25, 2017, can be registered under the Odisha Apartment Ownership and Management Act.

Meant for apartments completed before commencement of RERA in State on 25th February 2017 “….Registration Authorities shall not deny the registration of any apartment citing provisions of OAOM (Odisha Apartment Ownership & Management) Act, if the apartment was completed before the commencement of RERA in the State, i.e. prior to 25th February, 2017.”
The Notification by the Housing and Urban Development Department of Odisha says, “Accordingly, the Department of Revenue & Disaster Management will be requested to issue suitable instructions to the Registration Officers to facilitate the registration of such apartments”
As per reports, 7 senior officers have been specially given the responsibility of deciding the appeals pending against the orders issued at various times by the Odisha Development Authority 1982 in BDA and BMC.
The purchase and sale of apartments was being filtered under RERA. The government was losing a lot of revenue. Meeting with Revenue and Law Department for part plot has been completed. Urban Development Secretary has given a draft proposal, the problem will be solved soon. Bhubaneswar will be a better city, Puri, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar will be a tri-city, said Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra.
