New Delhi: Odisha’s Muktikant Biswal finally completed his 1600 kms walk from Rourkela to New Delhi to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi his promise, that he made three years ago.

On his arrival in the national capital, Biswal of Rourkela met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram seeking his intervention in meeting the Prime Minister.

An idol maker by profession, Biswal, with Indian national flag, had begun his walk from Rourkela on April 16 to remind the PM about the promise he had made to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) to a super-specialty hospital and construction of second bridge over Brahmani river while addressing a crowd in the Steel City on April 1, 2015. Unfortunately, nothing has been done yet.

Meanwhile, Biswal has threatened to sit on dharna until his demand to meet Modi fulfilled.

Speaking to Kalinga TV Biswal said, “I am extremely happy that I have finally arrived at my destination after crossing around 1600 kms. And I am also hopeful that I will be able to meet and remind him of his promise that he had made on April 1, 2015 in Rourkela.”

“I have already met my local MP and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram seeking appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I will sit on dharna and will return to Odisha only after meeting the Prime Minister,” added Biswal.

Notably, on his way to New Delhi, Biswal had fallen ill near Agra Highway in Uttar Pradesh and was admitted to a local hospital.
