Odisha: Inspector Sandhyarani Jena suspended over negligence in duties

On Monday, Odisha DGP suspended Jharsuguda inspector Sandhyarani Jena for negligence in her duties, said reliable reports.

Jharsuguda: On Monday, Odisha DGP suspended Jharsuguda inspector Sandhyarani Jena for negligence in her duties. While serving as the IIC of Lakhanpur Police station, Jena was involved in a case of accident, said reliable reports in this regard.

She had courted controversy for giving a different angle to the accident.

On January 7, 2024, a road accident had taken place on National Highway 49, under the limits of Lakhanpur police station. Therein, a coal-carrying truck had collided with a bike, resulting in the death of three people. Allegedly, the bodies of the deceased were shifted to another area by the PCR vans, under the instructions of Inspector-in-Charge Sandhyarani Jena.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Jharsuguda SP had transferred Jena to Police headquarters in Jharsuguda. She was relieved of her duties on Monday.
