Odisha govt to set up nine new medical colleges: Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling
While speaking to the newsmen today, Mahaling informed that the State government has decided to set up nine new medical colleges including four dental medical colleges and one Ayurvedic institute.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will set up nine new medical colleges in different places of the state, informed Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling.
While speaking to the newsmen today, Mahaling informed that the State government has decided to set up nine new medical colleges including four dental medical colleges and one Ayurvedic institute.
“Four MBBS colleges will be set up in Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, and Nabarangpur districts of the state and four dental colleges in Burla, Berhampur, Balangir, and Keonjhar. Likewise, an Ayurvedic college will be set up in Mayurbhanj district,” informed the Health and Family Welfare Minister.
The Minister further said that the new medical colleges with 100 MBBS seats each in Phulbani (of Kandhamal district) and Talcher (of Angul district) will commence operations from this academic year and will help meet the growing demand for doctors across the State.
