Odisha Govt to provide rain-hit farmers compensation directly to bank accounts
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said Collectors have been asked to submit damage reports along with details of affected farmers and their bank accounts.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced direct online transfer of crop loss compensation to farmers affected by excess and deficit rainfall this season.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said Collectors have been asked to submit damage reports along with details of affected farmers and their bank accounts. Compensation will be given even if loss occurs at the start of cultivation, and even a single affected farmer in a block will be covered.
Heavy rains last week damaged farmland in Balangir, Cuttack and coastal districts. After assessment, money will be credited directly by district offices with no middlemen, the government said.
