Odisha gets relief from heat as Nor’wester brings rain, watch
The evening showers today led to decrease in daytime temperatures across various parts of the state including Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The state of Odisha experienced relief from the scorching heat today as the Nor’wester brought rain to many places, including the capital city Bhubaneswar. The evening showers led to a decrease in daytime temperatures across various parts of the state.
Bhubaneswar witnessed hailstorms due to the Kalbaisakhi phenomenon, with temperatures dropping by 3 to 5 degrees in most areas. According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center, the temperature is expected to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees in different parts of the state over the next three days.
The Meteorological Center has predicted light to moderate rain in one or two places in seven districts of north-coastal Odisha and other districts in the next 24 hours.
Yellow warning has been issued for four districts – Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur – due to winds of 40-50 kmph accompanied by thunderstorms.
Light to moderate rain is likely to continue in most districts tomorrow, with the weather alert expected to remain in effect until April 18. The Meteorological Center attributes the drop in temperature to the rain and the impact of Kalabaisakhi.
