Four vehicle thieves met their fate with accident and were arrested by the police in Odisha’s Balangir district today. The stolen vehicles and valuables were also recovered from them.

According to reports, a group of four robbers yesterday looted two Bolero vehicles, one bike, silver statue of Lord Hanuman, an LED TV, a printer and other valuables worth over lakhs from a businessman named Ashok Agarwal.

After knowing about the loot, the businessman filed a complaint at the Kantabanji police station over the theft. Based on the complaint, police had initiated an investigation into the matter.

However, while fleeing the locality at high speed the thieves reportedly met with an accident at Madhyapur village under Belpada police station. On being informed about the road accident, Belpada police rushed to the spot to rescue them.

It is only after reaching the accident site, the cops came to know about the robbery and arrested the accused persons and seized the vehicles and valuables from their possessions.
