Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared Odia film ‘Meher Munda’, directed by eminent film director Nikunj Hota, tax-free.

It is worth noting that the film, which is based on the life, struggle, tolerance and success of the handloom weaving community of Odisha, was released on May 15, 2026.

The Chief Minister has decided to make it tax-free as the film clearly showcases the great traditional heritage and craftsmanship of Odisha.

Meanwhile, everyone who is associated with the film including the director thanked the Chief Minister for declaring ‘Meher Munda’ tax-free.

Odisha government’s decision to declare ‘Meher Munda’ tax-free has been welcomed by Odia film fraternity.
