Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed Land Rights Certificates to slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar on Monday. 

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed Land Rights Certificates to slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The distribution ceremony took place at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, said reliable reports.

All slums in Odisha are slated to be converted to ‘Adarsh Colony’ within the next three years said the Chief Minister of Odisha at the launch of Slum upgradation program back in September 28, 2020.

Housing construction assistance with land, and electricity, water, roads and other basic facilities shell be provide to the slum dwellers under the scheme.

It is to be noted that, these ‘Adarsh Colony’ will have all kinds of amenities which include electricity supply, drinking water, proper roads and hospitals. By now, more than 1,000 settlements have been converted into Adarsh Colonies.

The second phase of land rights will be given in the BMC area in October, said the official release of the Government of Odisha today.

The program will continue until everyone gets land rights further promised the Government of Odisha.

The CM emphasized that Development is the first right of the poor Jaga Mission has given respect to the poor, new identity the Chief Minister further added.

The Odisha Chief Minister said that the city is not only for the rich. Even the poor have the right to live in the city with their families. The labor of the poor is added to every brick used in the construction of the city. We should all respect their contribution. Jaga Mission has given respect to the poor, given a new identity.

This program of Odisha has attracted the attention of not only Odia people, but the people of the  whole world, he said that the poor people have the first right as a result of development. He opined that Jaga Mission has ushered in a new era in the transformation of the city.

The Chief Minister thanked Tata Steel Foundation for its significant contribution to the Jaga Mission program. The 5T initiative has accelerated our efforts to transform people’s lives. The Chief Minister opined that Jaga Mission is a strong example of this.

The Chief Minister also said that we are moving ahead with everyone’s cooperation. Stating that our goal is to build a new Odisha, a strong Odisha, a transformed Odisha, he said that today’s program will be a milestone towards achieving this goal.
