Odisha CM announces ex-gratia for 3 people killed in accident in Keonjhar, free education for deceased students’ siblings

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his deep grief over the loss of three lives, including that of two school students and a parent in Keonjhar today.

Apart from condoling the deaths of three persons, the CM also directed to provide immediate assistance of Rs 30,000 to the family of each deceased. Besides, he announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased under the Solatium scheme for hit-and-run cases.

Three persons namely Krishna Bhusal of Joda Azad Basti, his son Nikit Bhusal and his son’s classmate Ganesh Sharma were killed on the spot after the bike on which they were going to the Joda D.A.V school collided with an unknown vehicle this morning. The deceased students were studying in class 1.

The Chief Minister also directed to make arrangements and provide free education at TATA D.A.V to Nishal Bhusal, the other son of deceased Bhushal and Aditya Sharma, the brother of deceased student Ganesh Sharma.

Meanwhile, police has started an investigation to identify and trace the unknown vehicle.
