Bhubaneswar: Intense heatwave continued to sweep across Odisha as 17 places witnessed a maximum temperature of above 40 Degrees Celsius today.
According to the Bhubaneswar-based regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the State capital City, Bhubaneswar continued to be the hottest place of Odisha for the second consecutive day as it recorded a temperature of 43.2 degree Celsius today.
The 17 places where the day temperature crossed the 40 Degrees Celsius-mark are Bhubaneswar (43.2), Boudh (42.5), Baripada (42.4), Titlagarh (42), Jharsuguda (41.8), Sambalpur (41.5), Nayagarh (41.5), Balagir (41.5), Talcher (41.1), Sonepur (41), Sundergarh (41), Angul (40.9), Balasore (40.9), Cuttack (40.8), Bhawanipatna (40.6), Hirakud (40.3) and Malkangiri (40).
