Odisha: After scorching heat wave for several days twin city receives rainfall today

Bhubaneswar: After bearing scorching sun light and extreme heat wave condition for the last several days since the beginning of summer, Odisha on Tuesday received bountiful rainfall. Especially, the twin city – Bhubaneswar and Cuttack – received rainfall that cooled down the warm atmosphere.

Odisha was reeling under extreme heat wave condition for the last many days while cities and towns were making unnecessary record of extreme maximum day temperature. Even today Boudh recorded a maximum day temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius while 18 towns/cities recorded more than 40 Degree C. Also, six cities record more than 43 Degree Celsius day temperature.

At this juncture, today both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack received rainfall in the evening hours. It was reportedly after 70 days that the capital city received rainfall. Heavy rain was also witnessed at KIIT chowk.

Similarly, today Cuttack city received its first rain this season. From around 7 pm it rained heavily. After the heat wave condition, today’s rain has brought relief to people.
