Odisha: 15-foot-long snake found in Cuttack, Rescued

Cuttack: A huge snake has been rescued from a temple in Chaudwar area of Cuttack district on late Saturday evening.

The locals spotted the snake, a python crossing a concrete road near the Banipada Siva Temple in Chaudwar area.

A few bike riders stopped and were waiting for the snake to cross. By then, a huge crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the huge serpent.

The snake had possibly gobbled up something huge, hence it was having difficulty in slithering and was moving very slowly.

A few youth of the village caught the snake put it inside a polythene sack and immediately informed the forest department.

The Forester Purna Chandra Mohanty and Forest Guard reached the spot and weighed the snake, measured it and released it into the Damani Forest near Cuttack.
