Prices of subsidised LPG too have been raised by Rs 7 per cyclinder..
The steep price hike of cooking gas was made a month after P&NG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told the Lok Sabha on July 31 that the government had asked state-owned oil companies to raise prices of subsidised cooking gas by Rs 4 per cylinder every month to eliminate all subsidies by March next year.
However, Oil companies have raised the rates twice since then. The prices of cooking gas were raised by Rs 2.31 per cylinder on the previous due date on August 1.
As of now, there are as many as 18.11 crore customers of subsidised LPG and 2.66 crore users of non-subsidised cooking gas across the country.
