Alternative fertilizers to be used in place of Urea and DAP. Considering the demand and supply of Urea and DAP fertilizers in the state, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment has issued an important directive.
In a letter sent to all District Collectors, the department has advised emphasis on the use of alternative fertilizers. Farmers have been asked to use ‘Ammonium Sulphate’ in place of urea. As it contains 20.5% nitrogen and 23% sulphur, it will also help address sulphur deficiency in the soil.
