Puri: The supreme lord, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra are all set to enter their holy shrine and sit on their Ratnabedi today. This ritual is known as Niladri Bije which is observed after Bahuda Yatra and Sunabesha of the Holy Trinity.
This year, the rituals will take place on July 19. After the completion of Sandhya dhupa and other evening rituals, the deities will exit their chariots and enter the Srimandir through Singhadwara. The idols of Madan Mohana and Ramakrishna will be taken first, followed by Shri Sudarsana, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra. Lord Jagannath will be the last to enter into the temple.
However, as per rituals, Lord Jagannath will be stopped from entering into the shrine by Devi Mahalaxmi as she is angry with him for not taking her with them to the Gundicha temple. To persuade her and ask for forgiveness, Lord Jagannath offers her Rasagolla. Following this ritual, the Lord enters into the temple and sits on his Ratnabedi.
The procession of the Holy Trinity entering into the temple are accompanied with traditional music and dance, creating an atmosphere of joy and devotion. During this rituals, Puri’s Badadanda gets filled with sounds of conch shells, bells, and chants.
Notably, the Adhara Pana rituals of the Holy Trinity concluded atop Nandighosh, Taladwaja and Darpadalana chariots. Lakhs of devotees witnessed the Adhara Pana ritual of the deities.
