Boudh Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Golap Chandra Hansdah owns a total of 44 plots and assets worth crores of rupees, informed Odisha Vigilance which conducted searches at six of locations linked to him.
Boudh: Boudh Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Golap Chandra Hansdah owns a total of 44 plots and assets worth crores of rupees, informed Odisha Vigilance which conducted searches at six of locations linked to him.
In ongoing searches at six locations of Golap Chandra Hansdah, the following movable and immovable assets worth Crores have been unearthed so far, in the name of Hansdah and his family members, said the Vigilance team.
- One double storeyed building with area approx 3300 sqft over Plot No.457, Khata No.205/730 located at Prafulla Nagar, Baripada, Dist Mayurbhanj.
- 44 plots including 43 in and around Baripada town & 1 on the outskirts of Balasore town. The sale deed value of above plots comes to Rs 1.49 crore. Under valuation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
- Cash of Rs 2,38,725.
- Gold 1 kg including 2 Gold biscuits (each biscuit weighing 50 gms) & Silver 2.126 kg (picture given below).
- Bank, Postal & Insurance deposits worth Rs 1,34,09,193 crore.
- 40 lakhs spent by Hansdah on medical education of his daughter.
- 1 diary with details of benami money transactions which is under verification.
- 1 four wheeler (Hyundai Creta) & 3 two wheelers.
- Household articles worth around Rs 16.06 Lakhs.
Golap Chandra Hansdah is being examined to ascertain the source of the assets. Further searches are continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches were conducted on the properties of the MVI at following 6 places in Bhubaneswar, Baripada and Boudh;
- Residential house of Hansdah located at Prafulla Nagar, Baripada in Mayurbhanj.
- His Rented residential house located at Boudh, Dist. Boudh.
- Paternal house of Hansdah located at village Gudidiha under Khunta P.S., Dist. Mayubhanj.
- Rented flat of his daughter at Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
- House of his close associate at Baghdiha, Ward No. 28, Baripada. 6. Office chamber of
- Hansdah located in the RTO office, Boudh, Dist. Boudh.
A total of teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising 4 DSPs, 7 Inspectors, and other supporting staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.

It is to be noted here that he had joined in government service as an I.P.O. on 18.04.1991 and worked as such in the D.I.C. offices of Sambalpur and Deogarh. He was promoted to Junior M.V.I. in 2003 and worked at Taparia Check Gate in Sundergarh, Laxmidunguri Check Gate in Sambalpur, and later in the RTO offices of Mayurbhanj and Baragarh. In 2020, he was promoted to MVI and posted to the RTO office in Boudh, where he is continuing as such till now. His monthly present salary is Rs 1.08 Lakhs.
