The MeT department release said one or two places in the North Odisha districts could receive heavy rainfall induced by an upper air cyclonic circulation. The circulation, which extends up to 9.5 km above mean sea level, could result in strong gusty surface wind from the Westerly direction. The speed of the prevailing wind could reach 45-55 KMPH gusting to 65 KMPH off the Odisha coast, it said.
Since the sea condition during the upper air cyclonic circulation would remain rough to very rough, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next 24 hours.
However, no advice for hoisting of Storm Warning Signal has been issued by the Weatherman.
